My First Trip to the ER

Yes...you read the title correct. Kaidyn made her first trip Kosair Children's Hospital Emergency Room on Friday night. She gave us quite a scare because she was throwing up what appeared to be everything she was eating during a couple of feedings on Friday. I called the pediatrician Friday night around 11:30 and they advised me to take her to the ER to be checked out because she was so young (only 12 days old). Of course the ER was extremely slow and we were there for 5 hours. Kaidyn had some x-rays taken of her belly and was checked out. The diagnosis was...gas. Yes, 5 hours in the ER to find out she had gas! Oh well - at least it wasn't something major like they were talking about when we first arrived. I am monitoring her eating, slowing her down, and making sure she burps during feedings which is a challenge most times. Kaidyn is doing much better since our little trip Friday night.
